Ha, the title's a reference to LucidShadowDreamer. The orchestra-electronica vibe is creative here. I sense the lyricism in the phrasing's very inspired by LSD's work. A bit reminiscent of synth pop. That sweeping cello at the end tho... Great work I0TA

zybor responds:

Thank you for your kind words :D

Filled with energy! Plenty of variation to keep the listener on edge too. That Gabe the Dog tho...

I have a feeling Liszt inspired this one. The wash of arpeggios scattered all over and that baritone melody trying it's best to scream throughout this entire length of this fantasy. Worth the wait. Thanks for sharing again adaMills. Say, does anyone tune your piano every so often? Your piano never sounds out of tune.

adaMills responds:

I use a Yamaha DGX-640. older model, but the piano sound is pretty good. got those hammer weights in it too, so it's got a good feel to it as well.

A somber but lovely track. Would definitely make fun atmospheric music or like a mina menu like the below poster said. Good work, thanks for sharing sharpnova.

I'm hopping on the encouragement train too. Holy smokes, I didn't hang out on the audio portal when it first came out, I did flash cartoons when I was a teen. Oh no, I don't know anything about wrist slitting, that's bad. You should do whatever you're set on as long as it doesn't hurt anyone. If you want to make music again and it makes you happy, you should.

These days, the audio portal's about giving constructive criticism and helping others and complimenting on the good things in their art. Check out this review I got on one of my tracks. https://www.newgrounds.com/audio/listen/755447 That's about as harsh as I've received when I submitted music here in the last five months.

You do you sharpnova. Thanks for sharing your music.

sharpnova responds:

Don't worry. The score wasn't because of the shitty song lol. It was purely because of the epic and completely successful trolling I do around here :) The low score (wish it were lower) was always a badge of pride for me.

First of all regardless of what anyone else says if you created art and it somehow expressed what you set out to express, then it matters not what anyone else says. No one needs anyone else's approval.

Now for the actual review. If this is some form of satire, then you're a genius. The simple chord progression, followed with the robot statement. "Suck my peepee"; that's a gut-buster right there. It's funny and it does sum up a lot of the simple trance music you can find. As a parody, I enjoy this. Although ditto on the general consensus here; if this was a serious attempt at a song then it's lacking. Maybe if you took another crack at this and made the suck it statement after a big drop or something that'd make it hilarious in my opinion.

There's a place in the world for this kind of music. Thanks for sharing sharpnova. You gave me a giggle.

sharpnova responds:

it was supposed to be my magnum opus. a culmination of four decades of experience in the music industry and fiery conclusion of what many considered to be a great talent.

if it was only funny as a joke but lame as a serious piece... then my life is without meaning.

tl;dr: finally someone had the brains to take it for what it was :p

Love that tango rhythm and the use of the synth at the beginning. Nothing more jiggy than a tango in D minor :) Violin coming in with those sweeping phrases. Driving in a car at midnight is what comes to mind with this song. Good work I0TA, thanks for sharing.

zybor responds:

No problem :). Happy Xmas.

A simple feel good chord progression. There's definitely time for post-hardcore music. Fun guitar phrases and that synth at the end and the out-of-phase effects seem to express whatever is was you're expressing with this. Good work! It's ambient for sure. Say, ddi you play the guitar parts for this?

endKmusic responds:

Thanks for the review and listening. :)
Ye, didn't want to overcomplicate, this was more of panning/stereo excercise throughout the song, and it went pretty good so I decided to finish it.
Yp, an old classical guitar that I've had for over 15 years.
Vocals with more wet than dry sound (obviously :D) and some of the percussion stuff are recorded too.

Cliche accomplished. The recording is very clean and crisp. The lyrics are very funny. Is it just me, or are you doing more "spoken" type a singing? Like when you just exhalt a pitch within your speaking voice. Great work Troisnyx!

Troisnyx responds:

Cheers. For the singing style, it is a more spoken type, yes.

Interesting, say you wouldn't be influenced by neo-tonality and neo-classical music like Liebermann would you? Personally, I would've uploaded the three passages as three separate loops. It's obviously too abrupt a changes to include as a song song without some sort of interlude.

The first passage was sweet. Piano and continuo in the sweet key of Dmaj is lovely. Then all of a sudden oriental inspired ensemble in Bb, not my taste but it seemed fine (again not my style music so I can't say much). The final passage sounds like the development section to a chamber group concerto with some jazz inspired pizz. bass.

It's good music. Perhaps I don't like the way it was presented. Definitely continue to hone your craft. You're creative for sure.

rockossss responds:

In hindsight, I really should have uploaded separately. Maybe extend each part, could try to update this. It was a while ago, but I think it was so I could just save space haha.

boots-and-pants-and-boots-and-pants-and-boots-and-pants-and... Loving the initial drum beat. That cello too, good melodies aren't always the most eccentric or complicated. Good work, Snowy Road from the former SnowyTeddy :)

zybor responds:

Thank you for your review. Happy holiday! :D

I used to animate flash cartoons as a teen, but now I compose contemporary orchestral and classical music. Instruments I Play Guitar, Ukulele, and Clarinet/Bass Clarinet.
