Paving Way For Latest Project

Posted by Tyguy80s - January 2nd, 2018

A couple weeks of holidays and procrastination has past for me, and now I can present to y'all my latest music project. As a more developed musician and composer, I see it fit I produce something more lengthy and grander. Inspiration for this is my Mother. Recently, see's been sharing more and more of her stories from band class, starting from elementary school when she played the violin and flute, then to middle school where she played the tenor sax for a bit then discovered her love/fascination for clarinet, and high school where she went on to achieve colligete skill levels on that and trumpet too. She's told me the stories of the Mahler and Beethoven symphonies she absolutely hated and the marching band arrangements of Sir Duke and Send in The Clowns.

She's been growing sicker now too. So with a story to chronicle, developed songwriting skills, and an obligation, I'll embark on another creative journey for these next couple months or so to create a clarinet concerto in her name. It'll be a four movement orchestral suite, totaling what I'm guessing'll be around 20-30min. The prelude being one of them, the remaining three movements will represent Elementary, Middle, and High School. Instrumentation for each movement will vary some too, so added intriguige awaits us all.

I have Pandora fired up with Kenny G, The Beegees, and every Mahler symphony and I'm plotting evil... I mean music :) So that's what's up on this channel. Thanks for reading. Here's to making my Mother proud. After all, I wrote a symphony for two women not even half as close to me as my Mom is, so I believe it's time I return her the favor.

it was such a nice privilege to come from a musical family. wish i could pick my family next time i get to be born.

Oddly enough, in high school I always wanted to be Olympic athlete. I honestly thought if I worked hard enough I could be a world class Weightlifter. I binged on bologna and peanut butter and suffered from sleep apnea thinking that much fatty protein'd make me strong. Part of me wished I was born into an athletic family so I could go to college, become professional, and never have to find a "real job".

Alas, maybe if I keep this up and find the right people I could make a living from music. Maybe I should start a video series on my YouTube channel. People follow niche genres there.
